McKay Brothers, Relativity Networks Team Up on Hollow Core Fiber for Finance
The two firms will expand hollow core fiber networks targeting New Jersey financial venues, offering speeds from 10 to 400 Gbps.
McKay Brothers and Relativity Networks have formed a partnership aimed at building out hollow core fiber network infrastructure for financial markets and compute applications, the companies announced Nov. 2, 2026. The initial deployment will concentrate on key financial market venues in New Jersey, a region that serves as a critical hub for U.S. equity trading and exchange colocation.
The partnership will offer dedicated fiber indefeasible rights of use, known as IRUs, alongside connectivity services scaled from 10 gigabits per second up to 400 Gbps. Hollow core fiber technology transmits data through air rather than glass, reducing latency compared with conventional fiber — a performance attribute highly valued by high-frequency trading firms and other latency-sensitive market participants.

New Jersey hosts major exchange matching engines and data centers that process a significant share of U.S. securities transactions. Establishing dedicated hollow core routes in that corridor positions the two companies to compete for clients where microseconds can translate into material trading advantages.
The collaboration combines McKay Brothers' established presence in low-latency financial network infrastructure with Relativity Networks' fiber deployment expertise, according to the announcement. Financial firms and compute-intensive operations are the stated target customers as demand for ultra-low-latency connectivity continues to grow alongside algorithmic trading and AI-driven workloads.
